Judy Freedman is a New York painter who has been making art for over 60 years. She began as an artist at the High School for Music and Art and majored in Fine Art at Skidmore College.
Subsequently she pursued her Masters of Fine Arts at Hunter College and was one of twelve students chosen to study under Helen Frankenthaler. Judy took time away from painting to raise four children and help her mother run an antique jewelry store on the Upper East Side, Sylvia’s Uniquities. Although she returned to painting throughout her life, she has been prolific in the years since the store closed.
Though she often returns to the theme of circles and color in her work, Judy has gone through many phases including playing with subject matter and experimenting with both acrylic and oil paints.
